"Probably the most thorough and sought-after book on the subject. While I don't agree with all of Waterer's assertions (and modern experiments with leather differ in some ways from his own), the book is largely sound and offers references and insights that are hard to find anywhere else. Its out of print, but comes on the market from time to time if you keep looking for it. Definitely worth having if you can afford a copy.
