Reviews of Pfaffenbichler's
Medieval Craftsmen: Armourers

"This book is less a study of the historical aspects of armour than it is about the armourers themselves, and the business of armouring in the Middle Ages and Renaissance.

While potentially an interesting read for those who like "behind-the-scenes" kind of material, most of this book's value comes from the multitude of gorgeous color photographs of outstanding plate armour. There are useful references to tools and technology available at the time period, though.

This is a very good book on it's given subject, but not one that is necessarily going to have a wide appeal to many interested in armour. -E.S."
