Reviews of Bull's
An Historical Guide to Arms & Armour

"This is a useful book worthy of a place in any armour enthusiast's library.

It covers ancient Greece all the way up to the American Civil War, addressing arms, armour, and the eventual development of firearms. It is conceivably difficult in a volume so expansive to get into great detail on any one thing, but it does a good job of getting the important points across.

While it doesn't shed light on anything that isn't addressed by more time-period specific books, it is a good overview of the trends of the time periods it does address. -E.S."
