Eric Slyter is both a builder and collector of armour. Eric uses his armour and costuming as the director of Knights of Arador, an arms and armour education group. He builds armour commercially as The Vistar Armoury and is webmaster of The Arador Armour Library.
The pics below represent a few pieces which Eric is particularly proud of. The plate armour is made of mild steel in various thicknesses. The maille armour was made for himself of butted galvanized steel rings, though he is in the process of replacing his butted maille with more accurate riveted maille.

Eric is pictured below in his 16th Century (approx 1525-1535, German) full-plate harness, built by Christian Fletcher. Most of the suit is 16 gauge steel, while the skull of the armet is 14 gauge. Some portions, such as the greaves and parts of the gauntlets, are 18 gauge. The suit weighs in at about 70 lbs. The black finish was accomplished by gun bluing.
