The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York

by Eric Slyter

I had the opportunity to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City in December of 1998. The Met is enormously huge, but truthfully, the only part that held my interest for any length of time was the armour gallery :-) I spent the better part of an entire day taking pictures and notes, and that wasn't enough time! Since my camera left a lot to be desired, the pics below are a selection of the ones that turned out best. There was a lot of great stuff that I didn't have enough film to take pics of, either. I only got a few pics of the Islamic armour display, and no pics of their world class display of Japanese armour (sorry, it just isn't interesting to me). The armour collection at The Met has to be seen in person to be believed.
